The slogan ‘Simply Unique’ identifies the uniqueness of the Phakalane Hotel Resort.
The Luxurious destination is situated within the municipal boundary of Botswana’s capital city Gaborone but fifteen kilometers from the city centre. It recently opened with an 80-bedroomed facility.
Speaking to Sunday Standard, Phakalane Golf Estate and Hotel Resort Managing Director, Lesang Magang, said the new hotel intends to offer state of the art conference facilities as well as lovely golf experience.
He said that it offers suburban lifestyle in Gaborone.
“As for the unique services, a combination of our in house customer care training and our team of professional managers gives a simply unique service,” said Magang.
He revealed that they are in negotiation with “Lobster Ink”, an international Hospitality Management Training company, to conduct a 2-year training program, which entails modules in Food & Beverage, Front Office, Marketing and Kitchen.
Magang said that they have always had a share of the market with their existing villas and chalets therefore the guests now coming to Gaborone will have more choice of rooms. He said they are ready to compete with the local and international market on a bigger scale and attract a whole new type of tourists to Gaborone.
“Our objective is to improve guest satisfaction while increasing employee morale and develop the coaching skills of managers and supervisors for both the “front” and “heart” of the “Phakalane” personnel,” said Magang.
He also revealed that Office Bar and Terrace upstairs in the clubhouse are where locals and guests drink and eat, gazing into a Botswana sunset. He said the success can be measured by their regular and loyal clientele.
Phakalane Golf Estate had hosted a number of international golf tournaments.
The Botswana Ladies Golf Union won the bid to host the All Africa Challenge Trophy in 2012.
Phakalane Golf Estate is expected to host this prestigious event. Magang also stated that the new hotel is now better placed to attract much more and much larger Golfing events, which, in turn, contribute to the growth of the tourism industry.
┬áThe World Travel Awards Results for 2010 announced that Phakalane Golf Estate Hotel Resort ÔÇô Botswana’s Premier Golf Estate, won the 2010 Award for Botswana’s Leading Resort.┬á According to Magang, Phakalane is better known in the Southern African countries due to the awards and thereby there is a growth in the volume of business.
The Botswana Confederation of Commerce, Industry and Manpower (BOCCIM) is the secretariat to the business community. Magang confirmed that Phakalane is a member of BOCCIM and has contributed to the economic development of the entire golf estate.
