Exciting and entertaining developments of cuisine and fine dining at Phakalane are changing the eatery landscape to a healthier one.
The newly refurbished Halfway House Restaurant has added Chinese and Japanese cooking action stations as well as a sushi bar.
Halfway House offers cuisine with warm hospitality in a spectacular setting.
Located inside the Phakalane Golf Club, it is a less noisy, friendly and welcoming environment.
It offers breakfast, lunch and dinners to clients.
Lesang Magang, Phakalane Golf Estate Hotel Resort Managing Director, said they have looked at the cultural diversity within the city and Botswana as a whole and, based on demand, they have incorporated the Asian cuisine. He said they then came up with the dinning concept of Afro Asia.
Executive Chef, Thuti Garoeb, is the man in the kitchen in the restaurant. He considers the taste, speed, flavour, aroma and “mouth feel” in preserving freshness during preparation.
The restaurant offers include soul food, grill, boasts a wide range of authentic Chinese and artistic sushi presentation by another well-known flamboyant Chef Tin.
Magang stated that there was need to fulfill the demand for adventurous diners and to showcase the culinary abilities.
“There has been excellent response from our clients and there have been an increase on both restaurants as we now offer a much wider variety of food and best service,” said Magang.
According to Magang, the restaurant now seats 64 inside, 30 on the balcony overlooking the spectacular 1600 meter-squared putting green.
The newly modified Drostskeys Restaurant is now an 82-seater restaurant and combines an African ambience with opulence that matches the rest of the clubhouse.
“Drotsky’s a la Carte menu specializes in Prime beef cuts with a variety of Chef’s specials,” said Magang.
The welcoming golf estate restaurants have attracted many local and international events such as Nederburg Charity golf day and a chain of corporate events. “Our food service is simply unique, that is why our valued guests still come for more,” said Magang.
