Two weeks after the mysterious disappearance of an eight-year-old primary school student, suspected to have been murdered for ritual purposes, there is still no information about her killers.
Now police have put out a P50 000 reward for anyone who could provide information leading to the arrest of the perpetrators.
“The police have no clue that might lead to the arrest of the perpetrators,” said The Public Relations Officer of the Botswana Police Services, Assistant Commissioner Christopher Mbulawa. ”Therefore, we are offering a sum P50 000 as a reward to any informer who can assist the police with information that will lead to the arrest of the suspected killers.”
Mbulawa said the Botswana Police is capable and has cracked such cases before, with the culprits now serving jail sentences.
He said it is worrying when missing persons are found dead “but the circumstances surrounding their disappearance often differ”.
He pointed out that, in some cases, a mentally disturbed person is reported missing and goes for days without food or water and eventually dies, while others go missing and just commit suicide.
In-order for the police to excel in cracking any case that has been reported or that is about to occur, Mbulawa said that the public should also play their role in fighting crime and report every bit of information to the police.
He assured the public that any information forwarded to the police will be treated confidentially.
Mbulawa appealed to the members of the public to come forward with any information that may assist the police to crack the case.
The deceased, who was a student at Mosamowaskena Primary School near Molapowabojang Village was reported missing on 2nd July and her remains were discovered on the 19th of last month in Maisane area with some of her body parts missing.
