The Premier League has reached the climax stage as teams continue to slug it out week in, week out.
Already, fans are anticipating a photo finish as the top of the league heats up.
The top four teams, Township Rollers, Mochudi Centre Chiefs, BDF XI and Gaborone United have played 20 matches apiece with the team placed fourth separated from the leaders by a mere four points.
The four pace setters have reached the stage where by they cannot afford to shed points that would cost them dearly.
Despite the intense interest on the top teams, a fierce relegation battle is playing out at the bottom half of the table. There is the distinct possibility that teams that have never been relegated before could find themselves tasting First Division football come next season.
The teams perched perilously at the bottom are Nico United, BMC, Ecco City Greens, Notwane, Orapa United Miscellaneous, Extension Gunners, Uniao Flamengo Santos and Tafic.
The trio of Ecco City, Notwane and Extension Gunners are some of the teams that are yet to taste relegation.
The surprise package in the Premier League however is the duo of Motlakase and FC Satmos. Palapye based side, Motlakse are never far from the relegation zone but this time around have fought like wounded lions.
Satmos, on the other hand, are always relegation candidates because they normally get promoted only to be relegated. Even when they got promoted last season they were just dismissed as early relegation candidates.
The Selibe Phikwe side has however proved many people wrong. There is a possibility that they might even find themselves among the top four. Their top striker, Patrick Kaunda is on fire as he continues to terrorise opposing teams. He is currently the Premier League’s leading goalscorer with 17 goals.
