The Acting Chief of Protocol at the Ministry of International Relations found himself in a tight corner this week after members of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) questioned how an officer on a lower salary scale was selected to act in a senior position.
During his appearance before the committee, Permanent Secretary Thuso Ramodimoosi faced questions over the appointment and the circumstances surrounding the position’s grading. PAC members sought explanations regarding the appointment of an officer on a D3 salary scale to act in a post that was originally graded at E1 and has since been upgraded to F2.
