On Monday evenings, Hip Hop heads convene at Razmatazz Bar in Phase II for the ‘Hip Hop Asylum Nights,’ at which rappers, poets, motswakolistas, producers, break dancers and Hip Hop entrepreneurs gather under one roof to celebrate their art.
Keletso Tebele of Razmatazz Bar explained that ‘Hip Hop Asylum Nights’ is a weekly show aimed at providing a platform for Hip Hop heads and poets to showcase and develop their talent.
“We are trying to promote local Hip Hop because we don’t get that much airplay on radio, TV and even at parties,” she said.
The show has so far attracted attention from the public, who make their way to Razmatazz Bar every Monday for a fun filled evening that features Hip Hop battles, free styling and soothing poetic pieces. On the decks will be DJ Deezy-D. The ‘Hip Hop Asylum Nights’ has attracted rappers like Daniel Swagga AKA, TC, Jyotica, Ike, Ninja Stars, Oteng wa Motaki and Motimamodimo el President just to mention a few.
“We encourage all those who feel they have the talent to battle, freestyle and do poetry to please step up and be part of the show. This could be the first step to their road to fame,” said Tebele.
Hip hop Asylum nights starts at 18:00pm- 22:00pm every Monday. Entrance for the show is free.
