Air Botswana’s General Manager, Lulu Rasebotsa, has been suspended with immediate effect and ordered to respond to a raft of allegations of mismanagement, financial impropriety, and abuse of office that have plunged the national airline into a fresh crisis.
According to documents seen by this publication, the suspension was effected late last week following a recommendation by the airline’s board, which had concluded a fact-finding process into the management of the state-owned carrier. The Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Noah Salakae, acting on the board’s advice, is said to have determined that it was no longer in the best interests of Air Botswana for Rasebotsa to remain in office while investigations proceed.
