The BCP strategy team is leading Saleshando astray

The intension was to use this space this week to show how the scale and secrecy of the China sponsorship to the Botswana Democratic Party and President Mokgweetsi Masisi ahead of the 2019 general elections has amounted to money laundering. That can wait. A more urgent matter has arisen. We can always revisit the China matter and how it is soiling Botswana’s democracy and also negatively corroding the sanctity and fairness of elections in Botswana.

This past week the Botswana Congress Party Dumelang Saleshando addressed a political rally and the target of his diatribe was Ian Khama and the opposition Umbrella for Democratic Change.   What the BCP strategy team is doing is gross negligence. For the first time since it was formed, the BCP is going into elections with no intention of winning it. From the look of things the BCP goes into it to reduce chances of a UDC victory.
