In the 2000s, China pivoted toward higher-value manufacturing and technological upgrading. The ‘Made in China 2025’ initiative focused on advanced industries such as robotics, aerospace, and electric vehicles, while state-led innovation prompted significant Research and Development investment. While the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), exemplifies China’s global economic strategy. Industrial plan was to ensure that Chinese products can outsell other countries’ enterprises on the world market.
