The Trump surprise that Botswana queers should have seen coming

Botswana’s lesbians, gays, bi-sexuals and transgenders were last week caught napping by President Donald Trump’s decision to withdraw American support, but they should have seen it coming from a mile away.

There were plenty of signs, but not the will to read them. For starters, Trump’s first presidential term provided a sneak peek into what the LBGT community should expect in his second term. He previously stacked his administration and the judiciary with people who are overtly hostile to LGBT rights.
