The new opposition Umbrella for Democratic Change councilor for Boswelatlou ward has praised the Botswana Congress Party for their efforts and support.
The election saw the UDC retain the ward.
“The support and solidarity we obtained from our comrades was very great and pleasing. They addressed normal rallies during the week including participation at our star rally,” said Stimela.
He added: “The BCP leadership and general membership was there for us including during the voting session.”
Apart from BCP Secretary General Kentse Rammidi, former party parliamentary candidate for Lobatse constituency Elias Rantleru and his ex-council candidates were ever present to ramp up support and solidarity for the UDC.
Stimela obtained 183 votes, Raphael got 165- a far cry from last year’s national elections when 792 people registered to vote.
At the General Elections UDC won the seat by 278 against Raphael’s 276 while BCP obtained 93 votes during the national elections.
