Securing universal health coverage is a critical factor in health system strengthening more particularly to achieving equity and quality health services delivery. This system remains a topical issue among policymakers and continues to lead in public debate discourse as countries design and implement policies, strategies, and approaches to achieve equity in health. Universal Health Coverage (UHC) has gained traction in recent years since the publication of the World Health Organization’s (WHO) World Health Report in 2010 (WHO, 2010a) leading to the recent pronouncement by HE Advocate Boko in his SONA address on the 19th November 2024.
