Use of Dada’s house as vaccine site sets tongues wagging

Businessman Satar Dada has confirmed to Sunday Standard that his house in Extension 11 in Gaborone Central is being used as a vaccine site.

He said the venue had not been publicly advertised.

This has created suspicions of a special dispensation.

Dada who is also a ruling party treasurer and financier said he donated the venue to Botswana government.

Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health and Wellness Kempes Ebineng is expected to address the nation on the matter tomorrow.

The venue started to attract attention after it was found over the long weekend that Botswana’s business and political elite were filing in to get their their jabs from the venue.

Dada confirmed that people who want jabs from there book through him and he passes the names to Ministry of Health officials.

The list of people who got jabs from there reads like the who is who of Botswana based Asian community.

Judges, ministers and managing directors of commercial banks have also appeared on the list as has some well known ruling party activists and financiers.
