Liberal democrats consider populism to be “bad” and are wary of it, and they describe it as a divisive and dangerous phenomenon, attempting to distil complex societal problems into simplistic slogans with little practical application. They have given it a variety of contentious political labels, classifying it to be driving paradigmatic fight i.e. one that pitches person against institution. In this article I present the utter sentiments of Liberals to demonstrate the circularity of populism and populists including its precarious ground.
