Botala Energy Ltd., a dual-listed Australian and Botswana energy firm (ASX and BSE: BTE), has extended the Botswana government’s 90-day option to secure a 15 percent stake in its Serowe Coal Bed Methane (CBM) Project, pushing the deadline from May 16 to July 31, 2025. The move, announced on May 19, 2025, grants the state-owned Minerals Development Company of Botswana (MDCB) additional time to finalize due diligence under the Mines and Minerals Act, reinforcing the project’s pivotal role in Botswana’s energy strategy.
