Yet another missing person found dead

Residents of Mahalapye were shocked after a headman who had gone missing was found dead.
Reports from Botalaote Ward in Mahalapye allege that a headman who went missing hardly a week ago was found dead in his car that he had been driving.

Assistant superintendent Tawana Tawana of Mahapalapye Police Station said they are investigating the death of the 68-year-old man who had been reported missing only a few days ago.

He said the deceased, the headman at Botalaote Ward in Mahalapye, was found dead inside his motor vehicle in a nearby bush last Thursday.

“Though the investigations are still at an initial stage, we have yet to establish the cause of his death,” he said.

Tawana said the post mortem report will reveal the cause of death and whether or not there was foul play.

He appealed to the public that if anyone knows what could have happened to the deceased, they should contact the nearest police station.

Recently, the country has been hit by missing persons who are eventually found dead.
A primary school student reported missing a few weeks ago was allegedly murdered by unknown people for ritual purposes and the police have not made any breakthrough.

So far the police say there is a P50 000 cash reward for any person with information that might lead to the arrest of the suspected murderers.

A few weeks earlier, a Kanye school teacher from Mochudi went missing only to be found dead a month later, hanging from a tree with his insides missing.
