The Head of the Catholic Church Pope Leo XIV has surprised Lawrence Ofentse Pheto (50) with grace, gratitude and humility to serve as Bishop of Francistown.
In line with the Catholic tradition, the episcopal ordination will be presided over by the Apostolic Nuncio to Botswana on 27 June this week. The Papal Nuncio is an ecclesiastical diplomat who serves as the official permanent representative of the Pope and the Holy See to a sovereign nation – The Vatican’s ambassador if you like.
