Aisam appointed Stanbic Bank head of Corporate Banking

Shepherd Aisam has been appointed Head of Corporate Banking for Stanbic Bank Botswana as from July 2009. He replaces Jessica Gadimang who has been promoted to lead the Non Bank Financial Institutions for Stanbic Africa in South Africa.

Aisam has been in the financial services sector for close to a decade. He joins the Corporate Banking team from the Barclays Bank Group in South Africa, where he was working for Absa in the Corporate and Business Bank as Senior Relationship Executive.

With many credits to his name that range from providing complex banking solutions to public sector, commercial and real estate corporate clients to business development through maximising on calculated risk and capital allocation. He is expected to drive Stanbic Bank’s corporate banking in these challenging times.

“Aisam is a passionate banker with many credits to his name in the banking fraternity. He has the skills and expertise to meet the new demands for his appointment. His sound judgment, critical thinking, and risk background are commendable,” said Leina Gabaraane the Stanbic Bank Managing Director.

As the Head of the Corporate Banking team he will be coordinating all the activities within the department in order to maximise the value of the business. He will be responsible for ensuring that the corporate team understands the client’s strategic direction and long term needs as well as the opportunities available.

“It is a great honour to be recognised in this regard. I believe that together with my team we will be able to deliver innovative banking solutions to our clients. I am truly humbled to be appointed the new Head of Stanbic Bank Botswana Corporate Banking,” said Aisam.

Aisam has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Botswana. He also holds Risk Management and Structured Finance qualifications and is currently studying for his MBA.
