Stanbic Bank Botswana has appointed a Motswana, Tapela Mpuchane, as the Head of Business Banking with effect from January 2010.
As Head of Business Banking, Mpuchane is expected to steer the department into realising maximum value against a backdrop of uncertain market conditions.

Despite Stanbic Bank falling under the international Standard Bank Group, we put effort in localising the bank ÔÇô giving it a more ‘Botswana’ feel. This cements our commitment to promoting the vision of citizen empowerment,” said Craig Bouwer the Director of Personal and Business Banking.
Mpuchane moved up ranks from the position of Manager for Property Finance. At the Property Finance Division he was responsible for the marketing and sales of Property Finance products, building and managing relationships with stakeholders in the property investment market.
“I am greatly honoured to be recognized in this regard. I will apply all my abilities to making sure we are the bank of choice. By providing innovative financial solutions we will be able to exceed our customer’s expectations,” said Tapela.
Mpuchane is a seasoned banker and has been in the banking fraternity for close to a decade. His career credits include structuring and selling a diverse range of financial solutions, growing the bank’s market share and ensuring the retention of existing clients. His experience in the sector will enable him to perform to his fullest in this new position.
Tapela holds a Bachelor of Accounting Degree from the University of Botswana and enjoys reading contemporary literature, and playing golf during his spare time.
