Barclays Bank rewards customers

Barclays Bank Botswana has given back cash to some of its customers in the ‘swipe and win cash back campaign’ for both debit and credit card holders.

The bank’s Consumer Banking Director, Peo Motshegare, pointed out that the bank wanted to offer and encourage customers to use safer and convenient methods of payments, as cards are safer than carrying cash. Motshegare also stated that the ‘swipe and win’ promotion intends to recognize and reward the customers for doing business with the bank and for their loyalty to the Barclays brand.

“The campaign gives customers the opportunity to win back their amount till January this year and the grand price of P100 000 to be given away in February 2013,” she said.

Furthermore, she stated that each month 10 customers win one transaction amount swiped and another 10 win the total amount of all swipe transactions in a month as cash back into their account.
She revealed that to date 40 winners have benefited from the campaign to the tune of P182 321. 61. She also added that P100, 000 will be given away to one lucky customer in mid February.

“We will continue to be the leading bank in the country in terms of market share and we are fully up to standard in terms of service and security,” she stated.

Barclays Bank Acting Managing Director, Aupa Monyatsi, pointed out that the bank had been in the country for over 62 years and managed to be a leading commercial institution because of the customers. He added that giving back to the customers has always put smiles on the entire bank management’s faces.

“The bank is proud of its position as a leader in corporate social investment within the financial services sector,” said Monyatsi.

He said the bank is targeting all its customers and added that the bank has taken the highly symbolic milestone as a timely opportunity to look back and reflect on challenges and achievements.

Anthony Dew, the lucky customer who walked away with P7 300, appreciated the kind of services he has been getting from Barclays Bank and added that it was his first time to win. Dew said that Barclays has also given him good experience for over 35 years now.

“I have banked with quite a few banks but Barclays has been outstanding,” said Dew.
