Boko attacks Gobotswang

A broadside has been aimed at Member of Parliament for Sefhare-Ramokgonami Dr Kesitegile Gobotswang over a recent petition presented in parliament against suspended Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) MP Polson Majaga.

It came from non other than the Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) President Duma Boko at the coalition’s do or die congress raising suspicion that the party may be courting Majaga.

The suspicion comes on the backdrop of a decision by the UDC to welcome another suspended BDP MP in Ignatius Moswaane to its fold.

In a leaked audio, Boko attacked and condemned Botswana Congress Party (BCP) MP Dr Gobotswang for lacking “a political modus operandi” in attending to Majaga’s alleged defilement case.

Boko criticised Gobotswanag’s decision to bring a petition on the floor of parliament arguing that it was immature because the matter was sub judice and there was no need for a political leader of his caliber to have acted in that way.

He said the BDP is in a crisis and the opposition could have calculated the move and catch on Majaga than to fuel and cause havoc before floor of parliament. Boko said it was unnecessary for Gobotswang to have attacked Majaga. He said some UDC MPs are overzealous and have failed to apply a calculated move to catch on Majaga.

“They could have encouraged and advised Majaga on the best alternative move on the matter than to assist a wilted BDP to rise up. This is an own goal. They could have assisted Majaga by giving him all the moral support on how to handle the matter and capitalize on him,” said Boko.

Boko has called on members of the opposition to calm down and learn to follow protocol by way of respecting their public relations to pass the message to the masses as per the constitution of the party.

Ga e kake wa re party e pepereta, wena o bo o tla o tshuba ka matches,it was very immature, they should learn to shut up and keep quiet and allow those vested with communications authority to pass the message to the public through the media and not rushing to their social networks. You can’t see me exchanging unkind words about our political movement on social media,” said Boko.

Boko has cautioned opposition parties from exposing their weakness to the ruling party. He called on them to unite and try by all means to defeat BDP.
