It was one of the biggest Kodak moments of the 2019 general election.
Botswana Congress Party (BCP) President Dumelang Saleshando was caught on camera, down on his knees praying to God to bless his comrade and Umbrella for Democratic Change President Duma Boko.
This best friends act however fizzled out as soon as press photographers turned their cameras away. The public prayers were replaced by private curses and the upwardly curved smiling lips turned to downward curved angry frowns.
Boko and Saleshando’s relationship is full of such intriguing moments. The two opposition politics heavy weights went to great lengths to keep their unhappy union out of the headlines.
