Two Sundays ago president Mokgweetsi Masisi invited all the ruling party members of the parliamentary caucus to his official residence at the State House.
On Friday morning the caucus had courageously told the Leader of the House, vice president Slumber Tsogwane that the Bills that sought to upgrade the benefits and privileges of a retired president and also his deputy were a none starter.
If anything the Bills proved to ordinary Batswana out of touch. It was a rare show of courage by the often docile group of MPs.
