Did Kebonang lie under oath?

PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) audit partner Rudi Binedell this week filed e mail messages and documents suggesting that High Court Judge Zein Kebonang may have lied under oath.

This is part of the court application in which Pwc and Binedell want the court to reverse high court rulings allegedly ghost written by Justice Kebonang.

In his latest affidavit, Binedell alleges that Justice Kebonang received payments from Choppies Distribution Center (CDC) under a consulting agreement until at least October 2018, well into his tenure as a permanent judge. This contradicts Justice Kebonang’s assertion in his sworn statement that such payments ceased in October 2017 following his substantive appointment as a judge.
