A 42-year-old man from Francistown, who is facing a single count of fraud, last week pleaded with Francistown Magistrate, Pride Rusike, to grant him bail so that he could assist the police in their investigations.
Alfred Matshambani told court that he was innocent and, if given a chance to post bail, he would assist the Police in locating the suspect and bring him to book.
He added that if given bail he would not violate the bail conditions.
“I know the suspect and his name is Alfred Mosiedi and can assist in arresting him, as his name appears in the certificate that was used for the fraud,” he said.
Mosiedi is alleged to have sold a plot in Tati Siding Village to an unsuspecting customer through fraudulent means around February this year. However the Magistrate ordered that he be remanded in custody until the next date of mention when the court will decide whether or not to grant him bail.
