Minister of Minerals and Energy Bogolo Kenewendo has distanced her ministry from the controversy surrounding the liquidation and sale of Mupane Gold Mine, saying she had no knowledge of the ownership structure of ULSAN Holdings Botswana, the company at the center of the dispute.
The Minister was responding to questions from Tati East Member of Parliament Tlhabologo Furniture, who sought to understand how ULSAN Holdings was allowed to participate in the bidding process after the official deadline had passed, whether her ministry facilitated the process, and what role government played in extending the liquidation beyond the June 13, 2025 deadline.
