Kgafela, Manake butt heads

Court documents have detailed how assistant Minister of Trade and Investment Beauty Manake is raining on his boss’ parade, scuttling the substantive minister, Mmusi Kgafela’s attempt  to secure the independence of  the  Selebi Phikwe Economic Diversification Unit (SPEDU) – a parastatal under their ministry.

Documents before Gaborone High Court Judge Zein Kebonang suggest a power struggle between Kgafela and Manake over the independence of SPEDU.
