Know what matters, says Mdala

JWANENG: The Botswana Insurance Company (BIC) on Friday donated over 200 copies of Know What Matters, a self-help book authored by local motivational speaker, Saidi Mdala, to Morama Junior Secondary School in Jwaneng.

Presenting the gift to the school, Tsholofelo Pule, BICL Marketing, Communications and Media Liaison said the project was a life changing opportunity as well as a youth empowerment platform highlighting the need for the private sector to be part of giving back, “as they are the key to socio-economic development”.

“This book donation will also create awareness and encourage other private sector players to take on a similar approach. It is important to promote what you are doing to instill a similar role from others within the community,” Pule said.

The school head, Mpho Lesego, said she was happy for her school for being appreciated and hoped it was a learning curve for the students once they read it.

“At some point I thought maybe Mr Mdala had forgotten our school, but it proved he had not, in fact he was preparing for greater heights. We thank him and his team from Game rangers; together with BICL for their continued support, she said.

The partnership between Morama JSS and the publishing company dates back from 2015. Such partnerships are crucial to the development of students especially from the social and academic aspect said the school head.
