As the year draws to an end, it presents ample opportunity for entertainers to toss something new into the air waves and cash in on the festive party mood.
Newcomer Tebogo Mzakhula Tlhagadikgora has not passed up the opportunity. He has launched three singles to members of the press and is hoping to get enough airplay during the festive season. He hopes to have become a house hold name when he drops the whole album early next year.
Mzakhula is a new kid on the block and his debut album is titled ‘The Journey’ whic fall in the kwaito genre. Mzakhula explained that he got into the industry by chance and pure coincidence. “I was actually going to do some handy work for my manager, Odirile Tamajobe when I came across musical instruments in his house. I showed interest and the rest as they say is history.”
For his part, Mzakhula’s manager/ scout, Tamajobe of Prime Reign, stated that he saw talent, dedication and passion. He describes Mzakhula as a perfectionist who is extremely down to earth. He says they will take on specialists to provide listeners with the best quality music in the industry.
Well known promoter PP Wa Pimp explained to the crowd that after the launch of the whole album there will be a series of shows and promotions. He hopes that this kwaito sensation will go beyond our borders and perform internationally. He has already been booked to perform in Malawi on 13 Dec to 15th Dec 2013 at an Africa Unite Musical show. He is also scheduled to perform in Mafikeng on Jan 1st 2014 at a gig called ‘welcome back home’.
