Gaborone, Botswana — International photographer and visual storyteller Sara Jabril is set to unveil her highly anticipated exhibition, “Beyond the Journey,” a powerful photographic exploration of human connection, culture, and place. The exhibition opens to the public on July 31st, 2025 and will run until August 27th, featuring a compelling collection of photographs from Sara’s travels across the globe; including work from Botswana that was taken specifically for this experience.
Curated by Thabo Kgatlwane, the exhibition invites viewers to step into the stories that unfold beyond the lens; from bustling cities and remote landscapes to quiet, intimate moments between people.
“I’m incredibly proud to bring this astounding exhibition to life,” says Thabo. “Sara and I met earlier this year during one of my wine tasting events in March, and what started as a casual conversation about travel and storytelling evolved into this full-circle moment. Now, it’s finally happening; and it’s happening right here in Botswana.”
“Beyond the Journey” is more than an exhibition; it is an invitation into Sara’s lens; one that sees with deep empathy and curiosity. Her photographs weave together narratives of everyday life, fleeting moments, and profound encounters, reminding us that the human experience is both deeply personal and beautifully shared.
The opening night will be held on Thursday, July 31st from 17:30 PM to 19:30 PM and will feature a number of Sara’s work picked exclusively for this exhibition, as well as videos of her travels on loop, to play throughout the exhibition, and, of course, a special opportunity to engage with the artist in an intimate setting. The evening is by RSVP only.
All photographs will be available for purchase.
