The Police on Tuesday arrested four men who had allegedly stolen laptops, cellular phones and over P10 000 in cash from a construction company in the leafy suburb of Phakalane.
Five laptops and part of the stolen money, the amount of which the police did not disclose, were recovered from the suspects who, according to the police, had been found in possession of two handguns and eight rounds of live ammunition.
Senior Superintendent Dipheko Mothube said that the suspects entered the premises of an unnamed construction company armed with handguns and demanded money from two security guards and two employees of the company who were on duty.
He added that the suspects took their ill gotten gains and fled in a Toyota Run-x towards Gaborone after locking the four employees in a storeroom. The employees later reported the matter to the police who acted swiftly and arrested the suspects.
