A tragic road accident along the Francistown ÔÇôGaborone A1 road on Thursday night led to the demise of what is suspected to be a whole family after a Mazda twin cab van collided with a heavy duty truck near Sese village.
Serule police Station Commander, Superintendent Samuel Tlhobogang, said that they could not ascertain exactly what could have caused the tragic accident as police investigations were still underway. He, however, revealed that the four occupants of the Mazda van all died on the spot.
“The deceased four were traveling from Zimbabwe to the southern part of Botswana and they included a man, a woman and two male children who were riding in the back seat,” he said, fuelling speculation that the accident mighty actually have wiped out a whole family. He also said that the male driver of the truck had not sustained any injuries. While police investigations continue those who witnessed the accident told The Sunday Standard that the driver of the truck must have dozed off as his vehicle veered off its lane and collided with the van.
