SA comedian Kagiso Lediga to perform in Gaborone

South African renowned comedian, Kagiso Lediga, is scheduled to perform at the Gaborone International Conference Centre (GICC) on Wednesday 12, 2012. This will be a special date in that the calendar will be reading 12/12/12. According to the show organiser, Nozie Tlhong of Nozie Entertainment, they chose Lediga because he speaks Setswana and as such his local audience will be able to relate to his jokes.

Kagiso Lediga ventured into comedy while studying at the University of Cape Town 10 years ago and over the ensuing years set about establishing himself as one of South Africa’s top comedians.
Not only is he now lauded amongst the best comedians in South Africa with an impressive body of work behind him but is also now celebrated as one of South Africa’s pioneering and most recognizable black comedians. His talent and ability can easily be confirmed by an exhaustive trial of achievements and accolades.

Lediga has graced the stage of all the biggest comedy events in South Africa including the most prestigious one in the Cape Town International Comedy Festival where he won the People’s Choice Award. He has also performed at other comedy events such as Laugh Out Loud, Comedy Blackout, Kingsize Heavyweight Comedy Jams, Blacks Only, Freshest Comedy Festival, Pure Monate Comedy Jam, Let Durban Laugh Festival and has also entertained corporate crowds all over South Africa with his refreshingly intelligent and thought provoking brand of comedy.

His talent can be further confirmed by the fact that he has performed successfully overseas as well, performing at the internationally renowned Edinburgh Comedy Festival as well as in the famous comedy clubs of New York and Toronto. His ability to adapt his material according to his audience but leave them in raptures has always been a strong feature of his repertoire wherever he performs.

Tlhong said she has roped in a local comedian, Moshie, to curtain raise and double as director of ceremonies at the Lediga show. Moshie has himself promised to leave his audience in stitches on the comedy night.
