The Daily Grind turns two

Situated comfortably among corporate buildings just outside Gaborone’s Main Mall along Independence Avenue, the spot is not what one would call the ideal spot for a trendy caf├®. But two years after first opening doors The Daily Grind caf├® seems to be going nowhere soon.

A very intimate and cosy restaurant boasting a very minimalistic, yet aesthetically pleasing interior, the ambience is a definite breath of fresh air. As you enter, you are met by warm and welcoming smiles at the door eagerly waiting to assist you and make your eating experience as comfortable as possible. While the interior is to die for the patio also presents a perfect alternative to enjoy an evening breeze in the summer.

And the food, simply amazing.  You can almost taste the love it was made with. It ranges from delicious burgers and sandwiches to healthy and tasty salads and everything in between. One thing that they pride themselves in is coffee, it is an artisan coffee house after all. Mochas, Cappuccinos, Piccolos, Hot Chocolate, they have it all. Or you can alternatively enjoy your choice of milkshakes or alcoholic beverages.

Owned by a young Motswana, James Briscoe, the caf├® is an ideal place for corporate lunches as it is conveniently situated in a working class environment. It is also the perfect place for some peace and quiet away from the usual noise and commotion at shopping malls. Also ideal for that all important date where you don’t have to worry about interruptions or shouting ‘I love you’ at the top of your voice.   “Making our customers happy has been my greatest motivation and seeing them leave our restaurant smiling is the reason why I wake up every morning to serve the city of Gaborone,” says owner, Briscoe.
