The life of David Scara Aphirie

Former footballer and entrepreneur, David “Scara” Aphirie whose body was cremated on February 17, chose cremation as a last option. Initially he had wished that when he died his body be donated to the Sir Ketumile Masire Teaching Hospital for the benefit of the public. Unfortunately the hospital was not ready to receive such donations because of lack of resources. However, they were elated when told of the donation wondering how courageous the man was. They had not received such offers before.  Most surprisingly, the announcement was made by the deceased’s former wife, Lebohang Letsie. The deceased and Lebohang’s marriage ended in a divorce perhaps more than four decades ago following which Scara got married to another woman. That marriage did not produce children but it also ended in a divorce. It is not clear as to what happened to Lebohang but people talk about her also getting married to another man after her marriage to Scara. Unconfirmed reports say that her marriage to another man also ended in a divorce.
