Unions slam ‘Irresponsible’ Health Minister Modise

Major public service unions have launched an attack on Minister of Health Stephen Modise accusing him of misleading the nation by deflecting responsibility for chronic medicine shortages and unfairly scapegoating healthcare workers amid a deepening public health crisis.

The coordinator of the 5+1 CTU,The Five Plus One Cooperating Trade Unions (5+1 CTU) Thabiso Mhlauli, called on Modise to immediately withdraw what they described as “misleading, frivolous and untrue” statements he made a day earlier at a Botswana National Front (BNF) press conference in Gaborone.
