Zodiac Collabo Girls FC will host their 3rd annual Lobatse Mountain Walk this Saturday, August 6th in Lobatse.
In an interview with The Telegraph over the weekend, Zodiac Collabo Girls FC Chairlady, Omphemetse Mmolai said this is an initiative meant to raise funds for the female football team.
Mmolai added that the Mountain Walk is hosted in collaboration with the Lobatse Town Council. She said part of the proceedings will go to the Town Mayor’s Fund which will help in reaching out to the less privileged people in Lobatse.
The walk will kick-start at 0630hrs from the Gunners Grounds and the trail will pass through historic places in Peleng like the Fish Keitseng house where Nelson Mandela stayed, the Samora Machel Museum and Peleng Dam ,just to name a few.
Mmolai noted that tickets can be bought on Webtickets. 5km walk is selling for P150 and 10km is selling for P250. There will also be an after party at the Lobatse Town Park which is meant to make extra cash on the day. Tickets will be sold at P20 for kids and P50 for adults.
She said Lobatse artists have also come on board to make the after party a success. The Chairlady revealed that there are no prices to be won for the walk but there will be medals for everyone taking part in it.
Zodiac Collabo Girls FC was founded by Lawrence Nare as he wanted to keep youth off the streets and give them a platform to explore their talents and promote Lobatse through the club’s success stories and achievements.
“We humbly request for your support in all ways possible for the club to run as we currently have no sponsors but we will be playing in the next season,” pleaded the Chairlady.
They are in need of pledges, donations and partnerships. Visit their Facebook page: Zodiac Collabo Girls FC and Lobatse Mountain Walk for more information on the upcoming walk and their future endeavors.
