The Botswana Geoscience Institute has said a magnitute 3.6 earthquake within the Gaborone region occured at 12:44 at 9 km below surface. ‘The seismic event is of tectonic origin associated with continental drifting’ said, Koketso Botsepe Applied Geoscience Manager.
