Galaxy, Krmpotic part ways over contractual dispute

Jwaneng premier league outfit, Jwaneng Galaxy has parted ways with Serbian coach, Zlatko Krmpotic. Krmpotic was roped in early this year in January on a six month contract to replace Mike Sithole who was no longer in good books with his principals.

Sources who spoke to the Sunday Standard revealed that Galaxy parted ways with the coach after a contractual dispute. The coach wanted P60 000 per month and P150 000 signing on fee. However, the team management tasked with contractual negotiations said despite numerous attempts to scale back his salary, the coach remained inflexible.

At one point Krmpotic proposed P55 000 per month and signing on fee of P120 000, but still the management felt it was too high. Prior to his departure, Krmpotic was earning P50 000 per month.During his tenure, he was expected to defend Mascom Top 8 title and also guide the team to the league championship but he failed to achieve those targets.

Prior to joining Galaxy, Krmpotic was with Zambian side Ndola ZESCO United. Galaxy is said to be in talks with an unnamed foreign coach to lure him into the club.
