Winter will begin in style this year as many music lovers will get a chance to see their favourite international and local artists on stage. The concert which is called ‘I am Legend’ will feature some of the giants in the music circles including the likes of Don Laka, The soil, Vusi Nova, Lizibo and Mmaphala.
Speaking to the organiser of the event, Thabo Letshwiti mentioned that they decided to start winter in a very hyper mood by bringing some of the most celebrated artists who have managed to make a name for themselves and deserve to be hailed as legends. “The show is aimed at bringing legends like Don Laka and trending artists like The┬áSoil, making them share the stage with our local musicians thereby creating a platform for benchmarking; on stage presence and quality production,” he said.
He continued that the concept of the show title comes from the fact that the show aims at reprising pioneers of great music and refreshing modern entertainment with live music. “We have catered for all music lovers of different ages from young to the mature type. That is why in our line up one will find young trending artists like The soil and Lizibo and also find mature seasoned artists like Don Kala,” he said.
Letshwiti added that The soil is a newly established group which is already making waves all over the world having performed in different parts of the world. They decided to team this trending group with other popular musicians so that the attendees can enjoy good music at one time. “There are also local artists who will be performing like Lizibo who everyone likes and adores here, he is one of the best artists we have here,” he said.
He explained that the show is also a platform of harnessing great music from the old generation and passing the baton to the new generation. “This is also an opportunity for new age artists to share a stage with renowned icons,” he said.
He further added that although this is a new show that they are introducing to the public, already the reception he has been getting has been amazing as people are excited. “Tickets are already selling fast and everyone cannot wait for the show,” he said.
The master of ceremony for the night will be former big brother contestant Goitse Kgaswane. Letshwiti emphasised that they are all about nurturing young talent that is why they choose the young vibrant Goitse to be part of the show. He added that she is also the spokesperson and face of the show.
“Everyone is a legend in their own merits and our aim is to have good quality fun while we develop talent so people need to get ready for this show,” he said.┬á
