July 22nd marks a chapter in our family life, sad but a moment to reminisce and look to the Almighty. On 20th March 2026, my mother’s melancholic and distraught voice pierced through the warm early Friday morning. It was around 1 am, when she informed me of the passing of my brother Anthony Dingalo who was born on 22nd July. 3 Years ago on the day, 22nd July 2023, I had picked a call from Anthony Dingalo, informing us that we have been summoned to Bokamoso where my dad was hospitalised. I could sense the desolation and despair in his voice and immediately concluded the inevitable had happened.
Mr Ntebang K. Dingalo (Dicks as we christened him) was a Motalaote born in Mmutlane. In growing up, we knew our father to be a Police Officer who didn’t wear a Police Uniform, but neither was he in the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
